Product Description

Designed for excellent presentation, separation and reliability, our Ronnie/Spinner Rig Boom Sections are expertly constructed using 25lb stiff fluorocarbon, providing excellent strength, stiffness and reset properties.

The stiff fluorocarbon helps kick the hook section and hookbait away from the lead system, creating excellent separation while reducing the chance of tangles during the cast. Its stiffness also helps the boom maintain its shape and reset back into an effective fishing position if disturbed by feeding fish.

Fluorocarbon also offers excellent abrasion resistance and low visibility underwater, making it a dependable boom material for a wide range of carp fishing situations.

Each boom is neatly crimped at both ends, creating strong, consistent connections while providing a clean and professional finish. The connection at the hook end is designed to accommodate your preferred Ronnie/Spinner Rig hook section while allowing it to rotate freely.

These ready-made boom sections are ideal for anglers who prefer to choose their own Ronnie/Spinner hook section, hook pattern and hook size, while saving valuable preparation time.

Each boom is individually prepared, tested and carefully checked in-house to ensure a consistent finish, secure connections and reliable performance every time you cast out.

Simply select your preferred options, attach your chosen Ronnie/Spinner Rig hook section and your rig is ready to fish.

Expert Tips

Straighten Your Boom When Required
If the fluorocarbon boom develops a slight bend or kink during storage or after playing a fish, attach a knot puller to each end and carefully pull the boom straight. This can help restore the stiff fluorocarbon without the need for steaming.

Use an Anti-Tangle Sleeve
An anti-tangle sleeve can help keep the boom extended away from the lead system during the cast, improving separation and helping the complete rig land correctly.

Use PVA Foam When Casting
Adding a small piece of PVA foam around the hook can help protect the hook point and reduce the chance of the hook section becoming tangled during the cast.

Check for Damage Regularly
Always inspect your fluorocarbon boom for kinks, abrasions or damage, particularly after catching a fish or fishing over rough lakebeds. Replace the boom whenever necessary.

Choose the Right Boom Length
A boom length of around 6–8 inches is a great starting point for many carp fishing situations. Shorter or longer booms can be used depending on the lakebed, baiting situation and presentation required.

Check Your Crimps
Regularly inspect both crimped connections to make sure they remain secure and undamaged, especially after catching fish or retrieving through weed or debris.

Check Your Hook Section Movement
Once your Ronnie/Spinner hook section is attached, make sure the hook can rotate freely and isn’t restricted by the boom connection.

Always Test Your Presentation
Whenever possible, test the completed rig in the margins before casting. Check that the fluorocarbon boom kicks away correctly, the hook section rotates freely and the complete presentation is sitting exactly as intended.
